New Default Server Map

I've been getting really sick of kids playing on this server with there mics, immature tactics, and etc. I think a solution to this problem would be a new dedicated server map. This way we don't have to deal with kids screaming at the top of there lungs," Y U ARREST ME I" or a personal favourite "yOU CAN'T WEAPWNS CZECH ME DAT AINT RP." So to get rid of this problem I figure new maps. I personally think TB should be a go http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=18435 Good map with tons of detail. Venetian is always good too. I just think that this will higher the mature player count and lower the minges. This won't stop them it will just lower them down to a manageable amount.

I'm open to ideas for new maps other than the ones suggested. We have a big enough community to support a new map change.

the thing is - As much as we all love those maps, nobody plays them (ESPECIALLY tb). We can't really change the default map unless you want to see a catastrophic drop in the amount of players when alot of admins aren't on. We use downtown to lure a bunch of players on and when we're ready for a signifigant RP we switch the map.

I mean obviously I shouldn't have much of a say in it now, on account of I can't play for a couple more months, but I'd hate to rejoin the server only to see it's on some boring-ass map.

Venetian has had 12 or more people on it before. I vote for Venetian if we do change it.

CSCdesert is the way to go, although noone joins when it's up.

Surprisingly venetian has had points where the server was almost full. Even C18 hasn't been doing so bad.

C18 is just depressing. People rarely RP, they just build stupid cars and shoot civvies from the PD bridge.

I don't think a community map will becoming anytime soon. Unless we have a skilled mapper. As for maps, new ones come out every month. We just need a good map that isn't generic and mingeish. Venetian is a good start, but I wonder what else garrysmod.org has to offer.

Me and Mope tested the District 9 one, and it has little to no RP value... But it does have some wicked features.

The map is huge and laggy, plus you need GMOW for there to not be errors, and that mod is sort of useless...

Even if the server was full you'd rarely run into anyone else.

I remember hunting bigfoot in the woods on that map. that was probably the only good RP I ever had there.

If you don't want GMOW cars or errors, just create some script that goes something like this...

sv_cheats 1
ent_Fire gmow_car kill
sv_cheats 0

Of course it would be lengthier than that, but I don't know the exact names of the vehicles. To run it, you could just set it on server startup. It wouldn't cause any problems on maps without Gmow cars, as well.

lol... we can't decide on a map.

If we are going to change, I think i should be venentian or c18 instead of a huge map. Those are the only maps that have anyone join except for current default.

I'm also afraid of changing maps though because noone will join. I picked downtown because people would acctually join.

We need a car script for a map? Can't you include all models in a map? I don't understand why he wouldn't have it in the map dl if the map needs the car pack lol.

haha oh god, nostalgia. the very first time I ever played RP was on leet lounge on this map. I remember almost getting kicked like 2 minutes in because some cop arrested me and I didn't follow him to jail because I had no clue what was happening.
